On November 6 –9, 2016, the Colorado Plateau Intertribal Conversations will host a gathering of indigenous peoples from across North and South America. This historic gathering will model our seven-year-old Colorado Plateau Intertribal Conversation gathering, in which water, health, language and culture, and sacred sites lead conversations among participants. This gathering will focus on supporting and engaging indigenous attendees in seeking appropriate funding opportunities, building community strategies, and building long-term network goals.

No matter our geographical location as indigenous people, we are facing similar situations concerning the health of our homelands, the future of our cultures and languages, the health of our communities, impacts to our sacred sites, and climate change. As a way to appropriately address these concerns, a unified effort must begin within our indigenous nations. With this awareness, the Colorado Plateau Intertribal Conversations gathering group invites all indigenous peoples from across the world to attend the Indigenous Peoples’ Gathering for Healthy Communities, Culture, and Climate.
